Boell 1964 Ojo Sajera, Chilahuaca Mex Nov 19 continued the many trips that I have made along this road during from late Feb. through early May in 1963 and 1964 I have not previously seen a black vulture North of Chilahuaca. In the evening again hunted for the Gambel Quail saw one running under heavy borage but failed to collect it. Between Nov 14 ad 19 we took "for the pot" 12 scaled quail near our camp at Ojo Sajera. The crops of all of these contained grasshoppers, the largest number was 15. In addition most of the crops held a few seeds ad bits of green vegetation. During this period we took "for the pot" 14 mourning doves. The crops of most of these held seeds ad one or more kernels of corn from a nearby unharvested field. Cottontails - 5, - not abundant but much more common than during the spring of 1963 or 1964.
