1964 Ojo Saguna Chihuahua Mexica
Nov. 13
Got final approval on our
guns from the military and
left with our trailer at 10:30 a.m.
It is a beautiful day.
Reached Ojo Saguna at 4:30 p.m.
Parked our trailer under the cottonwoods
near the house of Senor
Cresencio Gutierrez where we
worked during the spring of
1963 (march-april) and again
in april and may of 1964.
As we drove into the
Gutierrez yard we saw three
Gambel quail about 50 yards
from the house. There are the
first Gambel quail that
we have seen anywhere
in Chihuahua. The birds
were feeding under heavy mesquite
growth near the road. Didn't
want to shoot so close to the
Gutierrez house - at least not
before we checked in with the
family.
