21 Journal Borell 1964 Ojosajuna 5200ft. Chihuahua Mex May 5 There is a small pool (ojo) about beside our trailer. 20x20 feet. It is in the center of 4 large cottonwoods and is surrounded by an adobe wall 3-4 ft high. The site is an attraction to birds but I have added with attraction by putting oat meal, toast, fruit sauce, wheat and bird seed. The latter is cheap in Chihuahua. Yesterday I got the idea of putting a brush pile near the water and within good any range of the adobe wall. The brush pile definitely and almost immediately improved the site for collecting birds that formerly drank and left promptly or flew at the slightest disturbance now loiter around the brush pile or take refuge in it when disturbed thus offering an opportunity to collect the desired individuals. The wind blew very hard last night and is still blowing - however the night was the warmest to-date- 60°F at 6.30 am *over
