Journal Borell 1964 Ojo San Juan Chihuahua Mex, 5200ft. May 4 It is still staying cool. Most days have been under 80° F but at the moment (3pm) it is 85° our warmest day, nights have been cool to cold—mostly 45 to 55° at 6 am. During the past week winds have been persistent and frequently heavy. Birds of interest - Blue grosbeak one & first seen Black headed grosbeak one & the same or other ? to see each day, no ?'s. - yellow warbler first seen Verdin ? 2 ? just seen - water thrush a lone bird seen several times today around the edge of a small pool. Again I failed to collect it— one at dusk. Bullock Oriole Common. During the last few days nuptial displays have been observed. Two or more ?'s are fighting for territory in almost every Cottonwood Sazuli Bunting & first seen Orchard Oriole, two ?'s in cottonwood Andubor warbler & 2 ?. white crowned Sparrows—about 20 around camp. A few are beginning to sing
