17 Journal Boell Mexico. 1964 Ojo Sajuna, 5200 ft. el. Chihuahua, May 3 Took a trip through the marsh, about the ponds, willows and cottonwoods and along the edge of the mesquites. Bird observations Purple Martin, 3 flying over a small pool. ♂♂♀. First ones seen this year. None seen last year Phalarope (wilson) ♂♂♀♀. Four on very small pool. They all were whirling about rapidly when I shot a ♂ & ♀ at one shot x that one collected, the first this year none seen here last year Hermit through, the third one seen this yr. Orchard Oriole two ♂♂ in cottonwood, willow and mesquites. Wilson warbler still the most common warbler but not abundant wilson snipe - 2 (most are ♂) Boot tailed grackle - 23 in one flock Ruby Cr. Flycatcher -1 Audubon warbler - 1 ♀ Black & white warbler -1 White Cr. Sparrow - 40 some being Chipping Sparrow - 4 5 aug.
