Journal 16 Boell 1964 Ojo Sajma, Chihuahua, may 2 (300) may 2 continued Black-tailed jack rabbit - 3, one female shot for the University. Family contained one large embryo. It would actively and I suspect would have been fowre in about a week. Marsh area: walked about two miles through the better part of the marsh area. Diaz Duck, saw eight all were in pairs which would indicate that they are paired but that the hens are not yet incubating when flushed (from very small pools) the hens quacked loudly about the same as the & mallard. The drake has this low graty call of the drake mallard. One & Diaz duck appeared to be mated with a & maller at least the ? was a bit smaller and considerably lighter in color than the other Diaz Ducks. How they well be able to raise broods with so scant bits of water here is a question,
