Borell 1964 Flores Magon 4800 ft. Chihuahua, Mex. April 24, continued White-Crowned Sparrow - 10 Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 Long-billed Curlew - 7 in a field 10 miles west of El Suced. April 26 Water-Thrush, observed with glasses at close range but was unable to collect. It was on the ground at the base of a large Cottonwood tree that grows near a small pool. Its teetering made it resemble a pipit. April 27 It is still cold at night - 40-50° F. Have seen no snakes and only one small lizard. The wind blows hard part or all of every day. Bird notes Hepatic Tanager - saw another & Wilson Warbler - Still a few present but the population is declining. Reached its peak about April 24. Cowbird - 1 - Saw two yesterday (April 26) the first ones that I saw last year (63) was on April 25.
