Cottonwoods are almost in full
leaf and the P trees are shedding their
cotton, willows are in bloom
and just beginning to leaf out.
Mesquite are in various stages of
leafage, some appear to be dormant
others are just beginning to turn green
and others are in about 1/4 normal leafage.
Grass in the marsh (Sacaton) has
green sprouts 4 to 6 inches long.
The general appearance of this marsh
is still "dead". Among the mesquite
there is little evidence of greening
of the grass or forbs and the cattle
are not foraging among the
mesquite as they were at this
time last year.
