Journal 6/1 1963 Buell Ojosapana, 5000 ft el. mexid. April 22 cool cloudy day 50 at 6.30 am, 68 at 11a. no new records April 23 Blue wized teal } one of each together shoulder or small ajo. Cottontail - 1 Jackrabbits - 2 April 24 Made a long trip around Ojos, wet areas, climbed through the brush. Dez ducks - Three crops of 5; 2 2 2 There were at least seven ducks. The second pair seen may have been repeats. Other ducks - none seen Wilson snipe - none - none yesterday Killdeer - 6 (3 pairs) Ravens - 10 - six were sitting on fence posts in a strong wind which ruffled their throat feathers - white was conspicuous. Barn owls - pair are nesting in cottonwood above camp. The screech owl make their clacking noises frequently during the night.
