Ojo-Sajuna, Chihuahua, 5000 ft el.
April 21
Returned to camp from Chihuahua at
10 am.
While in Chihuahua (Apr 19-21) made the
following bird observations.
yellow headed blackbird and cowbirds
About 50 of each present in large
Alamos at the Santa Rita motel.
Only one yellowhead no cowbirds
have been seen at Ojo Sajuna.
Male & female Grackles were observed
carrying nest material in the Italian
cypress trees at the Santa Rita motel.
No such activity seen at Ojo Sajuna.
At a large stock tank beside
the highway 40 mile north of
Chihuahua (west side of highway) the following
birds were seen
Diving ducks - 18
Shovelers - 6
Scap - 2
King Fisher - 1
Moorning doves - 100
Evening at Ojo's near camp
Wilson Snipe - 2 - Clippis Sparrow - 3
Barn Swallows - many
Tree Swallow 1, Cliff Swallow - 2
