journal 57 1963 E. Boell Ojosaguna, Chilhuama, 5000 Tol., Mexico. April 19 35° F at 6:30 am. Went to Chilhuama for mail & supplies April 20 in Chilhuama On April 10 I met a Sr. Manuel Ojeda (phone 23064) at the Pemex station corner on Blasiano de los Rios and Universidad. He took me to a taxidermist and guide Alejandro Lopez Escalera, Aldam Pacheco 2205 phone 25097. Mr Ojeda speaks good English, is President of the Apple Growers assoc., has large acres of apples in the mtn. west of Chilhuama and is apparently wealthy. Mr. Ojeda is apparently wealthy, knows the mtn. and state of Chilhuama and offered to assist us whenever needed. To-day (April 20) I again contacted Sr. Lopez with Mrs Baldwin as interpreter. Lopez, who has been (or still is) a professional guide says that he (probably him & his partner) killed 15 grizzlies between 1928 & 1956.
