Journal 53 1963 A.B.Boell OjoSajun, Chihuahua, 5000 ft. Mexico April 17. 54 deg. at 6:30 a.m., 78 deg. at 1 p.m. A terrific wind has blown since yesterday morning. It blew with a vengeance ad both days has resulted in bad dust storms. Made a trip around the pond ad into the monts Diaz ducks - saw groups of 5,3,2 & 1. collected one ? from the group of 5. The group of 3 consists of a drake & two hens. What appears to be this same group of 3 has been seen repeatedly since mar. 38 Sound quacking indicated that the lone duck was a ?, The ? can be recognized by their low grating quack like that of a drake mallard. Wilson Snipe - only one in the sound counts when I usually flush four or five. Brewer sparrow- still abundant. White Ci., Chipping, Vesper ad sevenach sparrows. Still present. Warblers - only Wilson & Virginia 2 Andubor seen today. Say Pheoie nest in caust in side of old well, 10 ft from sunflower - 3 eggs Tree Swallow, one collected from a *one.
