Journal 43 1963 E.G.Bozell Ojo Sayma, Chihuahua, 5000 ft, Mexico April 1st Temp. 56° at 8:30 a.m., 76 at 3 p.m. Took a trip to the ponds and to the small county above camp. Thrushes - 3, collected one. Green-tailed Towhees - 8 Wilson Snipe - present in small flocks usual, Brewer Sparrows - abundant. Audubon warblers - none. Apparently they left here about March 25. (See April 6) Palm warbler - none. They were present in the cottonwoods over camp only on March 29. Barn Swallow - ? - first seen March 30. April 2 Temp. 56° at 6:30, 76 at 1 p.m. very hard wind last night, some wind today Made a trip around the ponds at the big lake. Green-winged Teal - ? on small pond, 3 taken (?) all were without fat. Gonado small. Cliff Swallows - 5 first seen Western Sandpiper - 4 @ 500 - were not present on March 31 Snow Geese - 15 Anocet - 24 Blue Heron - 2 Greater Yellowlegs - 2 Least Sandpiper - 50. Mallard-Be? Shovelers - 30, Curlew - none
