journal 41 1963 E. Borell Ojo Saguna, Chihuahua, 5000 ft. Mexico March 29 Much warmer - spring may be on its way. Cottonwood are about half way to full leaf, willows are just coming into leaf. Catalaw still dormant, mesquite month dormant. Some green showing on several kinds of grass including zacaton, more bird singing than ever before. Bird observations - Palm warbler, three feeding in large cottonwood, 1 collected, others later i day ++ Towhee - green tailed - saw 6 collected 1 Grackle, boat tailed 19-4B, male i song Kinglet, Ruby Cr. - 6 in cotton woods some singing. Redwing blackbirds - 4 males singing Wilson Snyer - common i wet areas Brewer Sparrow - many White Cr. Sparrow - many derp - saw the trails of two snakes saw (collected) first jerbo.
