1963 March 25
Prepared the goose, rail and fat
collected yesterday then went to
Chihuahua.
The only unusual observation was
about 100 snow geese that
flew into the big lake about 9am
March 26 in Chihuahua.
went to Chihuahua Lake (8 mi. W.
of Cts) with the Baldwins. Saw the
following waterbirds:
Squall - 30
Gonbill - 10
Scamp (greater lesser) - 6
coot - 5
In Chihuahua saw inca dove and
Grackles carrying nest material.
Black locust in bloom and mesquite
about 4" in leaf.
March 27 returned from Chihuahua
about 3 p.m.
a flock of about 40 snow
goose left the lake about
6:30 p.m. and flew directly
west.
