Again ice on the shallow water.
24° at 7:30 am. 58° at noon
Bright and sunny, warm in the sun of
out of the wind.
Made a trap this morning as
again this evening around the ponds
and shallow marshes.
New birds
Snatchers (blue-gray?) - 2
Barn Owl, one in large cottonwood.
yellow-headed blackbird - 15
Crow, flew from a willow tree at
the edge of the marsh. It did not look
or fly like a rarer.
Redwing Blackbird - a flock of about 100
came to the marsh this evening, all
seemed to be for in S. I could see
no B. in the flock.
yellowthroat - 15
Brewer Sparrows, Wilson snipes
Vesper Sparrows, Lincoln sparrows
and white crowned Sparrows are still
here in their usual numbers.
Saw no herps except a Rana caught
in a trap set for rails.
