At the Fig Lake.
Shoveler - counted 48 - saw no
other ducks.
Snow Geese - none
Least Sandpiper - 100 - no other shore birds.
Pipit - 6
Horned Lark none in this area
where several were seen on Mar 12
Lexus gillardi, one flying from
its farm and taken near the Fig
Lake. I hunted the area but could not
find its mate (if one was present).
There is more jackrabbit sign in
the sparse salt grass near the lake
than any other habitat I have noted.
Butterfly (Monarch) saw
the first one near camp.
Also two mourning cloak
butterflies.
