Bell Mouth of Salinas River, Salinas Wildlife Area, Monterey Co., California January 5, 1990 679 Larus canus 1st winter, & ovary quiescent; wt. 315 G Complete Skeleton Stomach empty, except for sand. Tape worms in stomach, small (~1-2 mm) bumps, almost papillae-like, yellowish, all over intestine outer wall. 2 tissue nials LHKM. Moderate fat. Legs flesh colored. Base of bill flesh colored, tip black. 680 Larus argentatus ad. &; ovary quiescent; wt 1,025 G- Complete Skeleton Legs pink- 10RP 6/4; Bill- show yellow 5Y 8/3; Iris-straw yellow - 2.5Y 8/2 light flecking at base of iris; spot 5YR 4/0- light orange. Stomach contained chicken feathers. Heavy fat. LHKM - 2 tissue nials. 681 Larus californicus ad. &; testes 1.5mm &. w.t. 605 G Complete Skeleton Bill- yellow-green 7.5Y 7/2; legs: yellow-green 7.5Y 7/2, Gape - orange, bill spot - orange (5YR 7/2). Tip of bill black Eyering- black + deep maroon, iris - flecked dk. brown. 2 tissue nials - LHKM. Stomach empty except for plastic and paper. Good fat.
