Field Notes Doug Bell Location: UC Berkeley November 8, 1988 - cont. It swallowed me leg + foot whole, and tore up most of the pelvis into small pieces. I left after the bird had finished eating and fecked its hill, scratched, and settled on the ledge. November 9, 1988 I did not go to the campanile today, but R.E. Jones saw it up there at noon today. November 10, 1988 12:45 I observed the falcon on the N ledge # 4, sitting at NE corner. 15:15-15:40. Chris Schneider and I went with the head of Pest Mgmt. Services, Art Slater, and a fellow from Facilities Mgmt., Jeff Davis, up to the upper walkway of the campanile to collect prey remains. We had to squeez through the very narrow stair staircase to get to the level above the observation level. So we were on the shelf behind the stucco railing (ledge #5). Collected numerous pigeon remains, including a landed pigeon leg (at least 4 pigeons total) (a fresh pelvis, cleared of meat, sat on ledge 4 of 5 side. Also flicker feathers and the legs and skull of a burrowing owl! There were many castings from the peregrine and much white-wash. The walkway was flooded on the east side.
