Field Notes Doug bell Location: UC Berkeley November 6, 1988 - cont. 15:15 - 15:40. Peregrine still on ledge #2 (E), preening off and on. 15:45. The bird relaxed, tucked one foot up. Good crop visible 16:15. The falcon stretched, "sliced" some excrement. 16:40. Preened a bit, stretched. 15:25. He flew off E ledge #2, circled the campanile once, circled in front of the Campanile to the west, then appeared to fly up to the south ledge, out of sight. Must have landed. 15:35. I walked around the campanile to find the falcon, but could not see it. Was it roosting out of sight on the walkaway? November 7, 1988 17:00 - 17:15. As I left LSB to walk up to the campanile I saw the falcon take off from the West ledge (#2) in one fast direct flight towards the south. He threw up about 10' roughly 100 m to the south, then stooped route vertically down after turning. I couldn't see him finish his stoop, or what he was stooping at. He returned to the W ledge (#3), unsuccessful. November 8, 1988 12:40 - No peregrine on Campanile. 16:30 - 17:00 Watched the Peregrine sitting on West ledge #4, eating a brown & white pigeon. It was consuming the last of it - the pelvis & legs.
