Michael Brown works part time for fisheries doing patrol.
He caught 2 guys yesterday fishing w/out a license - $50 fines).
His wife is Janet - who runs a bird sanctuary at
Sewall, across the inlet from Pat Clements. Janets'
parents - Kit + Bruce Gifford, homesteaded Sewall
beginning in 1969. The place has a long history
before that - it used to be the "town" for logging -
but the location is horrible - 90 mph winds in Winter,
etc. At any rate, Michael took both Marian and I
out to shoot a few more gulls - I collected 2 at
Cowley Rocks (419, 420). Then we went over to
Sewall to meet Janet & her parents - very nice
place - a spotless homestead w/ loads of Canada
Geese, deer (tame), ducks of all sorts, fish hatchery,
tame crow. An incredible lifestyle. After an hour
a half we were taken back to Pat Clements. I
spent the rest of the day doing the gulls. Had dinner
and long talk with Michael this evening. Stayed at
his house overnight.

in Sandspit at 17:30. On the ferry rode across
