disappeared, as have Swainson's Thrushes. But we saw lots of them at our campground last night on the Quatso River 2 miles out of Port Hardy. Back at Tex's & Sannie's house we were treated to a wonderful dinner. Could watch an Osprey through their kitchen window hunting - powerful long steps. All in all, there are probably no nesting GWG's within 20 miles of Port Hardy - nearest colonies & me to the NW & SE.

We sleep at Tex's Sannies. Tex said he didn't think we would meet again (in a sweet & sour way), but I reassured him we'd be back. Ferry left for Prince Rupert at 0730. Just out of Port Hardy we saw a school, or pod of Orcas, right past the boat. Then a Minke whale, then some more Orcas. Lots of Gulf Gulls, Rhino cobbets feeding in the strait. Occasional Common Loons in the strait. For the first 1/2 of trip (to Bella Bella) things were pretty dull. Not much wildlife. Second half of trip (Bella Bella - Prince Rupert) got more interesting.
