islands. Plus some low flat topped, small islands-
looks like they might have gulls.
June 29, 1988
Met Bob Paine, Tim Wooton and
Ann at Big Salmon, Neah Bay
around 11:30. Al of the Charter
place took us out, 4 Zodiac in tow to
Tatoosh Island. Cassins Auklets, Rhinoceros
Auklets, Tufted Puffins, Gulls - mostly
Glossous-winged seen on way out. Also
large flock White-winged Scoters. I saw
an imm. Bald Eagle over Neah Bay, Landed
on Island with the Dory directly. Calm
on leeward side. Warm, sunny. Bob Paine gave
me a tour of Tatoosh, which incidently, is under
jurisdiction of the Makah Indian Tribe's The gulls
here are very tame. Also got good views of Tufted
Puffins.

-Watching birds, recording songs, noting mating types,
(see opposite page). Watched from Light House tower
the south end of island. Then went to north
and. Lots of gulls, mostly GW & hybrids, some weaving
around, but they really appeared hybrid morpho-
type. Watched a GW beg from 3rd & hybrid, an
imm. Bald Eagle flew past north end of island.
Later in the evening, we saw an adult Bald
