Field Notes Doug Bell 29 May 1988 site we could see four (!) beautiful brown falcons sitting in their pothole. The birds were nearly ready to fledge. One bird had scurpered a bit away from the pothole, but returned to lie down with a nestmate. 2 birds, each like statues, sat on either side of the hole, heads following every sort of curiosity. I guess there are 2 males and 2 females. I know for sure there is at least one male among the bunch. Only heard screaming once. Watched the rock for 15 min. Weather mixed, sunny, cool. Farther south, at Squaw Rock, I saw lots of white-wash, especially along the ledge that the falcons nested on last year. But in the time from 17:00-17:20 I did not see any falcons whatsoever.
