On Blank Rock - due west of Trinidad Head, counted about 64 [illegible] gulls - each one likely a nest. My perspective was limited by the to the eastern side of Blank Rock. Presidio Rock, as viewed on its northern side, revealed 24 nests of W.Culls. In Trinidad Harbor nearly every small rock has a pair of gulls; even a boat had a nest in its bow with 1 egg. The big rock next to Trinidad Pier has 3-4 gull nests on its south face. Observed a 3-year Glaucous-winged Gull at Trinidad Harbor, several double-crested cormorants, ?? Belted Kingfisher. Towards sunset 3 river otters appeared - they played in the lower docks. Two chased each other around and threw a kelp. The water in the bay was very rough - hardest I've ever seen it. Towards evening Maren and I went back to Patrick's Point State Park & walked Agate Beach. No whales this year? Varied Thrush, ?? Swainson's Thrushes, Bolinas albatross in the park. Barn & Rough-winged Swallows along the Bluffs at Agate Beach. Many Song Sparrows.
