Got up at 6:00 with Karen & Kathy. Drove out ridge
road to the west because the girls were checking
Bishop Pine sap taps. Birds seen along the way:
Rufous-sided Towhees, Scrub Jays, Ravens, Red-breasted
Nuthatchers, Calif. Quail, fledgled Vireol. Saw another
Island Fox on way back to residence. We then
packed up our gear, and I drove the large truck
back to the boat dock. Off the island by 13:30.
Spent the night at Carpinteria State Beach ($2.00 fee.)
