Field Notes Doug Bell April 29, 1988 it appears as if several gulls might be sitting on nests on one rock. Lyndel saw flock of +/- 100 Arctic Loons. 1 Marsh Harrier (?). I collected 2 gulls DAB (261, 262). 2 shots, 2 birds + 1 shot to finish one bird. Also saw 3 piglets (black) + mom. April 30, 1988 Drove from the station by myself out to the trailer at West end of island. Located near Forney Cove. Along the way saw Calif. Quail - always in pairs. Redfox-sided Towhees. Starlings. Flickers.. Redfox- crowned Sparrow? Song bugs of one series of similar notes. Ravens galore. Horned Larks (one nest 4/3 eggs). Near Forney Cove I collected 4 gulls - in 7 shots - bad! 2 birds I clearly missed. One had to be finished w/ 2 shots. DAB 263-266. At about 16:00 went back out to Forney Cove, collected 2 more gulls DAB 267, 268. Around {2 shots} 19:00 he went out and tried getting some birds for Ned. Took 6 shots for one bird... May 1, 1988 Up collecting at 10:30. I had to first prepare the 6 gulls I collected yesterday as skeletons, home I was out rather late. Shot 3 gulls (4 shots) just down from the trailer, near Forney Cove. DAB 270-272. {DAB 273} Also collected a bird for Ned. Spent the mid-day getting these ready.
