Field Notes Doug Bell April 20, 1988 include Starlings (I think they are even nesting in the Industry Building), Mallards - 3. A flock of Pine Siskins were on the cistern area - recorded. White-crowned s song sparrows. House finches. Black-crowned Night Herons - the colony in the Monterey Pines over east of the cellhouse was quite active - clapping of young bills begging for food? Ravens also wandering about the island - to the gulls' consternation. 16:00-16:30 - at base of Bay Bridge - S.F. side. Lots of gulls - even a couple Glaucous-winged. Double-crested Cormorants. Scanning the bridge & Ferry-Building area of SF for Peregrines. No sign of such.
