Field Notes April 13 - 14, 1988 Arrived in Ventura by 0:500 on 14th April. Waits at Channel Islands Natsl. Park Hqts. for Dave Lewis. The plan was to head for San Miguel I. by 07:00 with Park Service boat : Sea Ranger. But, thw weather turned so bad (Pouring Rain, high winds), tho boat trip was cancelled. Got my collecting permit from the Park Service. I cannot shoot birds, only trap them. Also heard from Ranger on San Miguel that there are no nesting gulls; the ranger from Anacapa Island also has no seen incubating gulls yet. Only option is to try again.
