last seen had landed in a tree top nearby.
Of the three Hermit Thrushes that the two adult SS had little or no fat while the immature was awfully fat and plump. The bird of the year weighed a couple of grams more.
There are dozens of people camped around the vicinity occupying their days gathering Prion Pine nuts. One fellow said he and his partner had gotten 95 lbs that day and that they were worth $25.
Sept. 21, 1934
Drove up Baker Cr. this morning and worked up a side canyon later crossing a ridge down to the Shoshone trail. Windy all morning and poor collecting. Nothing different seen except Sapsuckers. Usual flocks of Chickadees + Red-breasted Nuthatches.
Juncos found along streams and willows. Both the red-breasted sapsuckers I shot and the one female got were in willows.
