Belle 1934 234 Baker Cr, 9000 ft., Anahoito, White Pine Co., Nevada Sept. 20, 1934. the canyon floor is wider at the head of the canyon, conifers and aspen occur on all sides but lower down mahogonies are found on the south facing slope and stands of yellow pine, Simble Pine, Douglas Fir and White Firs on the north facing slope. I worked all day in the heavy conifers. In addition to the bird's shot, two Clark's Nutcrackers were seen, a golden crown Sparrow heard, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Red-breasted and Pinyon Nut- Crackers & Fairy Woodpeckers seen. I shot a Clark Nutcracker on top a tree, its body lodging in some tall branches. Efforts to dislodge it failing I again shot it nearly blowing it to pieces so that it was not saved. The point here, however, is that the crop and throat to the very operative were filled with pine nuts, uncracked, they looked like pinon pine nuts.
