Wells to Ely to Lehman caves
Elys to White Pine Co;
Sept. 17, 1934
Groups of larks were more frequent.
We stopped twice getting two each time.
The second time I observed one individual
leave the ground from amongst the
flock fly about 10 ft. above the ground,
made a dash and half turn as tho
catching an insect, then it returned
to the ground. This is more flycatcher
behavior. These birds on this well traveled
highway were less wary by far than
those between Wells and Currie on
a stretch where few cars travel.
Small flocks were noted along the
road all the way to Ely. This race
certainly appears larger in the field
than others I have seen.
Finally pulled in at the Lehman
caves and rented a cabin.

one can see into Utah. Altitude at
