Behle 1934 226 Bear Cr., 8000 ft., Jarbridge Mts., Elko Co., Nevada. Sept. 13, 1934 evidently resting and heard me coming and jumped up. I heard it and for about 10 minutes we both stood motionless looking at each other thru the foliage. Yesterday I saw three deer back of camp. A Red-tailed Hawk was circling over the stream side meadow. Sept. 14, 1934 Took in a stand of timber on the East facing slope north of camp. One Green-Tailed Towhee seen and heard in an open area. A Creeper and a Red-breasted [illegible] were traveling along with some Chickadees. Saw two Creeper this morning but didn't get a shot at them. Several Fuchers seen. Hunted till noon, driving to Wells in the afternoon. Stopped at the place where Horned Jacks were noted coming up. A small flock was feeding along the moist wood areas. Shot into a flock but failed to kill a bird. After this one shot they flew high and rapidly south and I never saw them again.
