Osele 1934. 225 Bear Cr., 8000 ft., Jarbridge Mt., Elko Co., Nevada. Sept. 12, 1934. to frequent open areas and are often seen on the ground presumably feeding. A Clipping Sparrow was seen with a flock of Juncos. One J junco was at the base of a sagebrush bush and a white moth came fluttering along near the ground and hovered about the base of the bush. The junco ran about for several seconds attempting to obtain the moth finally succeeding. On surrounding slopes one or two groves of mountain mahogonies were noted one being visited but no birds seen there. Sept 13, 1934. The game warden who called in to see if we were shooting deer said there were some Onion trees two ridges down the canyon below Jarbridge. I went down then while Finsdale followed the stream down. No onions were found. A Sparrow Hawk noted near the rim. The whole slopes are marked with old log drag trails. Juncos, White-crowned Sparrows and House Wrens were noted in open sagebrush or barren areas at the ridge top. There were two wrens cavorting about in the bushes. Coming down I got within 40 yards of a deer. It was
