Belle 1934. 224 Bear Cr., 6000 ft., Garbridge Mts., Elko Co., Nevada. Sept. 11, 1934. Areas surrounding the winding stream. One other habitat is pure stands of stunted aspens. Early this 17th went up to the head of the canyon back of camp. There is one seepage area and spring with some g rass. Evidently it serves as a water hole for deer as their trails lead down here. There is one 30 x 30 ft. patch of alder bushes. In here were seen chickadees and some kind of warbler unidentified. One chickadee was seen to bath in a small pool of water in the heart of this patch Chickadees and juncoes are the most abundant birds present. Each are flocking. I never saw more than six chickadees to a flock. It seems that ruby-crowned kinglets are often accompanying chickadees. Sept. 12, 1934. Proceeded up the head of the canyon south of camp. Audubon Warblers are flying high in the tree tops. While on the ridge several flew over southward as though in migration. One chipping Sparrow was seen in an open area on top of a divide.
