Sept. 5/1934
the way met the ranger, Mr Travis.
Established camp at the Martin Creek
Ranger Station. This is located about
17 1/2 miles by road from Pleasant
Valley and 1 1/2 miles down on the
N side of the summit. Altitude 7000?
The country around is mostly
covered with sagebrush on the
slopes but down in the bottoms
of the canyons grow cottonwoods
and willows. There are a few
scattered groves of Mt. Magnolia
trees near the tops of ridges. The
aspens on some slopes, together with
some manzanta form a sort of
chaparral.

found in the dense aspens and willows
in the bottom of the canyons. Vesper

In addition to birds shot, saw
Western Robin, Red-shafted Flicker.

Again worked upstream. There is
little water but many seepage areas.
