Ravendale, Lassen co., California Aug. 26 Among the sagebrush. After chasing them around several flights I obtained the ?, wounded the ? but lost him. This bird appears the same as the ones north. Got a cabin at Ravenville for the night since it may rain and we are awfully tired. The service station man says there are thousands of this type of birds around in the sage brush flats. This whole valley is a hot dry, typical sage brush valley with a few jumpers toward the foothills. The flock 15 miles north of Terno seemed practically all in fresh plumage. While following them around a strong wind came up. They seemed to flatten down head toward the wind and after disturbing them they would wheel around into the wind to come to a landing. My suffering from hay fever has been nearly unbearable, in fact is so but I have found great relief in using a remedy called Estwin. This is manufactured for relief from Hay fever and is dispensed in drug stores and prescription pharmacies.
