Schle 1934 Plush, Warner Valley, Lake co, Oregon aug. 22 shot a jay from the auto as it perched on a fence post. Its mate got away. The fifth bird obtained was a sparrow shot down in the greaswood flats while looking for Horned Larks. August 23rd Camped last night in an open place near the store among the greaswood bushes. Put up the five birds obtained last evening miles north of Adel. ♀ 534 Thrush - Sage Thrasher perched in top of greaswood bush. ♂ 535 Thrush Sage Thrasher On top of fence post when shot. ♀ 536 Blackbird - Brewer flew up on fence wire with flock. ♂ 537 Jay - Cyanocitta On fence post. ♂ 538 Sparrow - Savannah at base of greaswood bush. Drove north two miles. The entire valley floor is covered with grayia spinosa bushes, Jarolatus verniculatus bushes and Rabbit Brush. Chrysospermum The greaswood predominates. One sees some patches of willows lining former streams and
