Behle
1934.
Berkeley, Alameda Co., California
Aug. 17
Left Berkeley with Mrs Behle at 2:15 PM
after I had registered for the semester.
Drove without mishap to Red Bluff. A
few miles out of town we stopped and
for an hour I walked or drove
over fields and bare areas looking
and listening in likely places for
Horned Farks Not one was seen.
We pulled off the road and slept
on the north side of town.
Klamath Falls, Klamath Co., Oregon
Aug. 18
4:00 P.M. Just arrived and am having
car greased and oil changed. We
left Red Bluff about 5:30 PM and
drove straight on thru to here. All
along the way we kept our eyes
open for Horned Farks frequently stopping
and walking over to bare areas!
It was disappointing to say the least
not to find any because I should
have liked to have collected all
along the way possibly checking up
on intergradation. Not until we
went thru Klamath Pass did we
see any, Then we spied two
sitting in the shade of a fence
