This bird indicates that the lower center
of back is replaced 1st followed by
the lower back & rump + upper part
of back encroached from sides &
scapular region.
Bad 476 Otoconis alpestris rubra 28.5g.
Primary no 9+8 old, 7 starting, 6,5,4,3,2,1
New . Secondary 1 new, 2 3/4 grown, 3 yet a
papilla, 4,5,6 old, 7,8,9 new. Tertials +
scapulars new. Coverts above new except the
outer 2 primary. Alula old. Tail, outer 2
pair old + then grade up to middle.
Upper coverts new & also under. Rest new except
neck & part of chest.
Bad. 477 Otoconis alpestris rubra 28.5g.
Primary no 9 old, 8 1/5 grown, rest new.
Secondary no 1,2, new, 3 nearly grown, 4 still
a papilla, 5&6 old, 7,8,9 new. Coverts new
except outer primary. Tail - middle feathers new +
rest grade down to outer papillae. Rest of
plumage new except neck sides
