Behle 1934 Great Salt Lake, Utah, Egg Island June 25 The pouches of these young were pale yellow. Hidden among the rocks were found six young that hadn't yet attained full size and these were branded with brand number 618202, 618203, 618204, 618205 618206, 618211. all of the 34 series. Most of the cormorant nests were abandoned for this reason but on the east side were three nests that contained eggs. Two had two eggs apiece and the third had three eggs. These nests were not tall and mud cemented like most of the nests and seemed apart from the majority of the nests. I don't remember having seen them two years ago so I assume they had been built this year or last. Eight nests had not been used this year. About 35 or 38 looked as if they had been utilized. About 8 skeletons of half or three quarter grown cormorants were noted on or near nests showing a high mortality. The cormorant colony seemed reduced in numbers compared with two years ago. I am
