a line of twenty traps set out in
Claremont Canyon 1 mile East of Claremont
Hotel. Four were placed near the
stream about twenty feet apart but
showed no signs of having been
touched during the night. Eight
mouse traps were placed in Mentus
runs in 6" grass on the South facing
slope. Two were sprung the following
morning but there was no catch.
On the North facing slope six mouse
traps were set but about 10 yards
apart in suitable locations. One
Peromyscus was taken. Two rat
traps were placed on a Woodrat
nest and the rat was taken.
Heavy rain all during the night.
