past year Johnson was amused at the Ogden party that was marooned on the island. He noticed a definite gap from fresh eggs to nearly full grown young rather than the usual successive stages of growth and development. It would seem that all eggs were destroyed by the gulls and the very young pelicans perhaps died from exposure since the adults were kept from the island more than twenty-four hours. Some new eggs were, laid after the old ones were destroyed apparently. June is very late for eggs to be found, I believe.
Johnson still has his place on the Bear River for boating activities and made money this past year renting out small boats and motors to hunters. The duck hunting was reported to be very good this past year. Another significant thing learned from Earl is the progress of his amphibian boat. It was
