The drainage of this ridge at this point is to the Klamath River via Pine Creek on the east and to the west the drainage is into Redwood Creek. The following birds were observed from 7:30 to 11.00 P.M. or heard — Sooty grouse (two heard and two flushed at edge of timber); Canada Ruthatch; Oregon junco (quite common at edge of road and seen in bushes adjacent); Western Tanager (singing from high in the tree tops); Hermit Thrush; Mt. Quail? Savannah Sparrow (in open prairie from which they flew to bush or garry oak); Flicker; California Woodpecker; Pine Siskin (in flight overhead); Steller Jay (in timber near edge) California Purple Finch ( in bushes and garry oaks at edge of prairie); Western Robin; White crowned Sparrow ( in and around bushes generally at edges of prairie or where arms of bushes extended out). Chipping Sparrow (in bushes and garry
