Behle 1933. Coyote Peak at 3000 ft. Humboldt Co. Calif. June 10. 145 Salamander - Taken in between roots of upturned tree when soil was damp 3000 ft. Taken June 9. In rebaiting trap line yesterday (June 9) one 4 ad. Eutamias townsendi found in mouse trap at bottom of shallow draw under overhanging bank and roots. Trap line this morning (40 mice and 10 rat) got one 6? ad. Peromyscus m. rubidus from small hole at base of Douglas Spruce when it was dry; one Clethionomys californicus from under log among damp litter of leaves of oaks, ferns + pine needles, the same material overhanging and the whole being quite damp. I am inclined to believe that the steady drizzle + fog are inhibiting the activity of mammals as well as birds. 146 S Chipping Sparrow 12.1g Testes O shot from Garry Oak isolated in meadow. 147 S White crowned Sparrow 25.8g Testes O Taken from bushy oaks in prairie at an elevation of 3000 ft.
