Wood Duck picked up dead 10 miles east of Gridley, Butte Creek, Sutter County, calif. by Ralph Ellis on Dec. 28, 1932. Skeleton only. 2. ♀ Great Horned Owl. 1544.3 grams. Ovary 9998 3. ♂ Great Horned Owl. 1010 grams. Testes O 4. ♀ Sharp-shinned Hawk 199.1 g. The above three birds brought in by Ralph Ellis from 10 miles east of Gridley, Butte Creek, Sutter County, california. Taken on Dec. 28, 1932 and kept in cold storage. The owls were together in a tree when shot. The ♂ owl not only weighed more but appeared larger. Color differences of the two birds also noticeable.
