From gary Oak. 117 ♀ Motoma f. fascicles 368-174-41-26 185.1g No embryo - near nest in Huckleberry Oak + rocks - 4650 ft. Trap line this afternoon yielded one ♂ Eutamias townsendi ochrogyna at base of Douglas Spruce in heavy timber. and one ♂ P. m. rubida under overhanging rock where the ground was damp . 10 ft. from water. Walked down to open country below camp this morning. Noticed two grouse eggs laying in the middle of the road where a newly fallen Douglas spruce had once been before being cut away. Search revealed under the limbs of the portion of the tree that had been dragged to one side one more intact egg and one broken. Undoubtedly the grouse had started to lay her eggs under this fallen tree but the nest and contents were semi-destroyed when the tree was cut to clear the road. We had
