Red-tailed Hawk, Canada Nutcracker,

On June 1, a golden Eagle was
flying slowly overhead being chased
by a hawk probably a red-tail.
The Hawk would fly higher and
swoop down making a pass at
the eagle which seemed unperturbed
but would bat out with a wing
or turn slightly on its side. It
gradually flew higher and passed
over the mountain. The same
eagle presumably has been seen
soaring around several times since.
Early this morning while bitterly cold
a Hermit Thrush was steadily singing
its flute-like notes.
