Cassin Purple Finch, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Red-tailed Hawk, Canada Nutcracker, Green-tailed Towhee, Dove, Hermit Thrush, Wood Pewee Chipmunks have been seen, fresh deer tracks & turds, and rabbit droppings On June 1, a golden Eagle was flying slowly overhead being chased by a hawk probably a red-tail. The Hawk would fly higher and swoop down making a pass at the eagle which seemed unperturbed but would bat out with a wing or turn slightly on its side. It gradually flew higher and passed over the mountain. The same eagle presumably has been seen soaring around several times since. Early this morning while bitterly cold a Hermit Thrush was steadily singing its flute-like notes. 112 & Blue-fronted Steller Jay 127.4 g Ova Ready for laying.
