White-headed Woodpeckers nest about six feet from ground contained young which were calling vigorously.
June 15- Very heavy rain nearly all day. Cousin Georgia came-
June 18. Took Georgie, Lois and Mrs. Mead to Muir Woods - beautiful weather - Saw Creeper at foot of redwood picking a moth to pieces. Birds found Blue fr. Jay - Creepers, Purple Finch, Grosbeak, Chickadees, W. Winter Wren Warbling Vireo Song Sparrow, Spotted Towhee.
June 19-23- Very hot. 94° in S.F.
June 24-26 - No fog but not so hot. Too warm-
June 26. Two young Spotted Towhees much at home on feeding table.
Family of Titmice in woods to west of house.
June 28. Drove to Boulder Creek leaving Berkeley at 3:30 p.m. Very hot day.
June 21- Boulder Creek - Western Tanagers in same place in woods at Redwood Rest where I saw them on June 7- Male singing constantly, no female in sight- probably brooding but I could not find the nest. (Contin)
