Started home about 9:30 a.m. It began to be hot at 2,000 ft. altitude and at Sacramento it must have been about 94°. Dinner at Hotel Medanos at Pettingill and home by 8:30 p.m. - a very beautiful drive - Robins all the way. June 6. Berkeley Warm - House mice have left the nest. June 7. Warm. June 8, 9, 10. Warm, lovely weather. June 14 - Fog all day - Sunny at Diablo - Calif Woodpeckers have left nest. June 15. Fog all day. June 16. Lulercout and Tolmice Warblers began singing again after a long silence. June 16-23. Cold and foggy except one day. Thrush sings just before drinking fountain. W Flycatchers feeding young. Allen Hummer (female) came into spray. June 23. Pileolated Warbler (adult) and 1 young seen - bathing. Calls of young bird sounded like young Sparrow Hawk - heard repeatedly also a few days ago. June 24. Sparrow Hawks with young flying about were near the house during the early part of the morning - Foggy. June 25. Fog tried to come in at night but did not succeed. June 26. Warm... No fog. June 27 .. .. Lois started to weave. June 28 .. .. Pileolated Warblers come for water. Flickers and Willow Woodpecker in garden. June 29 .. .. Song Sparrow & Sp Towhee feeding young (out of nest ?) June 30 .. .. W Flycatcher still about nest. July 1. Foggy. July 2, 4. Clear, warm in sunshine. July 5 - 8. Fog night and morning. Cool. July 8. Saratoga. Titmouse & Chickadee both present. July 9 Santa Cruz. July 10 Boulder Creek & home via Saratoga.
